Big Girls Don't Cry | Day 5

I'm a third into the 15 Day Book Blogger Challenge! Hip hip HOORAY!

Recommend a tear jerker.

See, the thing is I don't actually cry while reading. I just physically cannot. While my heart might be aching, my eyes are most likely dry. But I don't need to cry to determine a tear-jerker. I know one when I read one!

The Universe Versus Alex Woods by Gavin Extence

Possibly one of the best books I've read this year, this touching story about the unlikely friendship between a socially awkward teen and a grumpy old man is MIND-BLOWING. The quirkiness of the book makes it like no other and I promise, once you read the end, you'll be bawling. I nearly cried. Just goes to show how amazing a true friendship can be.

Yes I don't usually cry either... I would consider every book that makes me go teary-eyed a massive tear-jerker. I didn't even cry when I read TFIOS!! XD I'd definitely recommend This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales cause I actually got tears streaming down my face when I was reading the second half <33 it was an amazing book and absolutely relatable :)

  2. Not a single tear has rolled down my cheek in all my life while reading so I definitely agree with you: any book that makes me well up even the slightest bit is a tear-jerker. TWINSIES- I didn't cry while reading TFIOS either. I've heard a lot about This Song Will Save Your Life and I'm so glad you liked it! I'll be checking it out! :)

  3. I love hearing other readers say they don't cry while reading because I also belong to the group of those who rarely do so. My eyes were completely dry during TFiOS and Code Name Verity, even though my emotions were internally torn to shreds and part of me is a little jealous of those who do complain about not being able to read because tears are clouding their vision. This comments section is starting to feel like a club of non-criers.

  4. Me too! I always feel like the odd one out when everyone's going on about how much they cried. But funny, I don't have the intense 'I want to cry but I can't' feeling while reading either. Maybe I'm just not an emotional person...
